DFA Reiterates Warning to Travelling Filipinos Against Illegal Drugs

1 September 2010 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reiterated its warning to Filipinos travelling overseas against possession or trafficking or illegal drugs.

DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs Esteban B. Conejos, Jr. warned of the stiff penalties imposed by other countries such as China on anyone caught carrying illegal drugs.

18 August 2010 - The Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) wishes to inform the public that in view of the declaration of 21 August 2010 (Saturday) as a regular non-working holiday, all passport applicants with scheduled appointment on said date will be accommodated for processing on August 23 (Monday).

RP Embassy In Bangkok Reiterates Warning Against Recruitment as Drug Mules

06 August 2010 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok reiterates the warning to Filipinos to be extra wary of accepting offers from individuals or groups to carry illegal drugs in their luggages or in their person when going abroad.

It also reminds Filipinos to be wary of the modus operandi being used by drug trafficking syndicates to lure unsuspecting individuals, such as being lured into the trade through internet chat rooms.

RP Embassy in Malaysia Warns Against “Customs Scam”

06 August 2010 - The Philippine Embassy in Malaysia warned Filipinos, particularly those working and residing in Southeast Asia, of the so-called "customs scam".

The scam, usually targeting women holding stable jobs in reputable companies, involve promises of securing a valuable package in exchange for remitting money to the perpetrators.
