6 February 2012- The Philippine Embassy in Dili reported that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Embassies in Dili, Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, officially hoisted the ASEAN flag at the Indonesian Embassy grounds on January 20.
The event was organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Dili in anticipation of the August 08 deadline set by the ASEAN Committee of Permanent Representatives for the display of the ASEAN flag in all the overseas diplomatic and consular missions of ASEAN Member States.Regional Cooperation Director General Marciano da Silva of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs graced the historic event.
