RP Joins Global Push for Stronger Steps against Human Trafficking a UN Launches Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking

4 September 2010 - The Philippines pushed for stronger and "more decisive and united" steps by the international community to combat trafficking in persons and hailed the launch of the United Nations' Global Plan of Action against human trafficking as a concrete move to address a "growing global scourge."


In his statement last September 1, Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York Libran N. Cabactulan pointed out that "the importance of a harmonized and concerted global response against trafficking cannot be emphasized."

RP Embassy in Brunei Welcomes Balangay Expedition Team

3 September 2010 - The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam reported that a flotilla of three balangays arrived in Bandar Seri Begawan last August 26 as part of their regional tour.

The three vessels are the Diwata ng Lahi, Masawa Hong Butuan, and Sama Tawi-Tawi.
