07 August 2008 – Philippine Ambassador to Israel Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia met with Mr. Zvi Bar (wearing white polo), Mayor of Ramat Gan. Ramat Gan is one of the oldest cities in Israel, having been established some eighty five years ago. It is home of the Israeli Diamond Center, which is one of the largest and most advanced in the diamond industry in the world. Ramat Gan is also the place of the Official Residence of the Philippine Ambassador to Israel.
Mayor Zvi Bar mentioned that the main thrust of the City is education. He promised that his office would schedule a tour for the Ambassador to orient her with the major establishments, institutes of learning, parks and the like. Ambassador Garcia also met Mr. Moshe Meron, President of Ramat Gan Foundation for Foreign Relations. He has held high positions in the Government, having been a Deputy Mayor of the City and Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament. END |
