OEA-lecture of Prof Ferenc Albert2

07 November 2013 - The Department of Foreign Affairs’ Office of European Affairs (DFA-OEA) successfully held on November 4, a lecture entitled “The Right Stuff – Recruiting and Assessing People” at the Department of Foreign Affairs Main Building in Pasay City.

The lecture was presented by Professor Ferenc Albert, Ph.D., an acknowledged authority on human resources. Officers and staff from the different DFA offices/units participated in the lecture. It was also attended by personnel from the Human Resource Department of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Philippine Airlines.

Professor Albert shared his expertise on making valid and reliable assessment in recruiting people and critical evaluation of candidates’ skills, abilities and personality. The participants appreciated the lecture which allowed them to acquire improved knowledge and competence in the recruitment and assessment methods of hiring people.

DFA Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson thanked Professor Albert for giving time to share his knowledge and expertise which will prove useful in the Department and other agencies’ line of work.

Professor Albert, a Swedish national, is a senior psychologist and a member of the European Association for Aviation Psychology. He is a former Assistant Professor at the University of Stockholm and a Visiting Professor at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. He is also a consultant for Thai Airways, one of the major airline companies in the world and is active in consultancy services in human resources development. END
