DFA Consular Office in Tacloban Assists Stranded Foreign Nationals in Eastern Visayas
TACLOBAN 04 May 2020 — The DFA Consular Office in Tacloban has been assisting foreign nationals in Eastern Visayas, who have been stranded in the region due to the travel restrictions imposed through the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon and in some parts of the country.
DFA Consular Office in Tacloban, together with the regional office of the Department of Tourism (DOT) assisted a total of 92 nationals on two domestic sweeper flights from Tacloban to Manila, mounted by the British and Australian Embassy in the Philippines on 28 April 2020.
The number is in addition to the 62 foreign nationals assisted by the Consular Office on a separate Australian-arranged domestic sweeper flight on 18 April 2020, and another 13 foreign nationals onboard a Swedish-mounted sweeper flight on 11 April 2020. END
