LA UNION 01 June 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office in La Union, through the invitation of the Industry Development Division-Ilocos Region and Department of Trade and Industry-Regional Office-1, participated in the Webinar on the State of the Global Halal Ecosystem Amid COVID-19 held via the Zoom Teleconference platform on 26 May 2020.
The Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman welcomed the following speakers of the webinar: Halal F&B and Agro-Based Section, Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation Senior Manager Leany Mokhtar and A-Transglobal Logistics Managing Director Noordazleena Mohd Daud.
The topics discussed include the Halal Supply Chain, Development for Philippines, and Global Halal Ecosystem Amid COVID-19. The speakers also shared pieces of advice and best practices during the crisis.
The Consular personnel learned updates on the current state of the global Halal economy, the challenges of the industry amid COVID-19, and possible recovery plan after the crisis. END
