DFA Consular Office in Lipa Celebrates 122nd PH Independence Anniversary

LIPA CITY 17 June 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office in Lipa City held an online flag ceremony on 12 June 2020 in celebration of the 122nd Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Philippine Independence with the theme “Kalayaan 2020: Tungo sa Bansang Malaya, Nagbabayanihan, at Ligtas (Kalayaan 2020: Towards a Free, United, and Safe Nation).”

The flag ceremony that was held via Zoom Cloud application served as a reminder for the Consular Office’s personnel on their continuing duty to the flag as public servants and inclusive effort in the continuing battle against COVID-19 pandemic.

The Consular Office’s program started with an invocation, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the recitation of Panunumpa sa Katapatan ng Watawat ng Pilipinas, and the profession of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Independence Day messages of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. were read by Officer-in-Charge Ma. Consolacion F. Araño-Esguerra and Administrative Officer Myrien Eulah Kezia G. Banaag, respectively. END
