DFA Consular Office in General Santos City Commemorates 122nd PH Independence Day
GENERAL SANTOS CITY 17 June 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in General Santos City joined the nation in commemorating the 122nd Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence on 12 June 2020.
In celebration of the birth of the nation’s freedom, with the theme “Kalayaan 2020: Tungo sa Bansang Malaya, Nagbabayanihan at Ligtas,” a brief program was conducted at the Consular Office headed by the Officer-in-Charge Helen Grace A. Tabora.
The simple affair commenced with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by the recital of Panunumpa sa Watawat.
Likewise included in the Consular Office’s activities in commemoration of Philippine Independence is the week-long display of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Frontliners Tribute Video honoring our modern-day heroes’ sacrifices and compassion amid the global health crisis we face today. END
