DFA Consular Office in La Union Celebrates 122nd Anniversary of PH Independence
LA UNION 17 June 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in La Union celebrated the 122nd Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with the theme, “Kalayaan 2020: Tungo sa Bansang Malaya, Nagba-bayanihan at Ligtas”, at its office in Manna Mall, City of San Fernando, La Union on 15 June 2020.
The program commenced with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a recitation of the “Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas,” and the profession of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Consular Office in La Union’s personnel, led by Officer-in-Charge Grace M. Bañez, watched the video messages of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. which were shown at the Consular Office’s TV monitor.
The celebration concluded with a simple breakfast prepared by its personnel. END
