TAGUM 18 June 2020 – The Consular Office in Tagum, Davao del Norte, commemorated the 122nd Philippine Independence by holding two flag ceremonies, in the mornings of the 11th and 15th of June 2020. The two ceremonies covered the Consular Office’s two groups following the skeletal workforce implemented due to the current pandemic.
The program included the reading of the messages of President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin Jr.
In her speech, Officer-in-Charge Joany G. Margallo-Lucas emphasized the rights and privileges currently enjoyed by the Filipinos which advanced significantly and historically since the declaration of Philippine independence in 1898. She also commended the Consular Office in Tagum personnel for reporting to the office and for serving the public amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The programs were followed by a simple breakfast and sharing of cupcakes to a few passport applicants. END
