LA UNION 15 July 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in La Union participated in the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) Region 1 Second Quarter Meeting, CY 2020 via Zoom teleconferencing on 08 July 2020.
The meeting was spearheaded by National Security Council (NSC) National Security Adviser and Director General Hermogenes C. Esperon Jr. and was attended by La Union Governor and Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Chairman Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Luis V. Singson, Department of Interior and Local Government Region 1 Director and Regional Inter-Agency Task Force Chairman James F. Fadrilan and different heads of regional agencies or their representatives. The Consular Office in La Union was represented by RTF-ELCAC Alternate Representative Victor Mitchel M. Zambrano.
The highlights of the meeting included the accomplishments of various clusters of RTF-ELCAC, situation updates provided by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-MEID), and RTF report on barangay development projects. END
