The Consular Office in Tacloban was inaugurated on 14 July 2003 as the 11th consular office to be established in the country. However, after the destruction brought by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), the Consular Office was forced to suspend its operations. It resumed operations eight months after in 14 July 2014. Four years later, the consular office moved to its current office location that promises a more convenient and comfortable passport application experience in line with the DFA’s commitment to make the passport application system faster and easier for the public.
