CO Butuan participated in the Webinar Advocacy on Child Online Protection during COVID-19 Pandemic with resource persons from the DSWD FO Caraga, International Justice Mission (IJM) FO Cebu, Commission on Human Rights RO XIII and Justice, Peace & Integrity of Creation-Integrated Development Center, Inc. (JPIC-IDC, Inc.) on 28 July 2020.

The office also took part in the Bluer than Blue Campaign displayed at the new Gender and Development (GAD) Corner of the office. The Blue Heart Campaign against Human Trafficking is a global awareness raising initiative to fight human trafficking and its impact on society. The Blue Heart represents the sadness of those who are trafficked while reminding the cold-heartedness of the traffickers.

Meanwhile, CO Butuan initiated the “dfabook,” a social media-inspired section of the GAD Corner, that encouraged sharing of ideas and quotes in celebration of World Day Against Trafficking by posing the famous question, “What’s on your mind?” Employees and clients were requested to write down on the blue hearts what they know and feel about human trafficking. This activity aims to reflect and educate oneself on the threats and harm of human trafficking. END
