DFA Consular Office in Tacloban Commemorates 53rd ASEAN Anniversary
TACLOBAN 12 August 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office in Tacloban commemorated the 53rd ASEAN Anniversary during its flag raising ceremony on 10 August 2020.
Together with its on-duty and work-from-home (WFH) personnel, the DFA Consular Office in Tacloban joined the DFA’s virtual flag-raising ceremony. The ceremony was highlighted by the singing of the ASEAN Anthem and the reading of the message of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte by Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.
To contribute to public awareness on ASEAN, CO Tacloban showed videos and made available to the clients some Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials about the ASEAN Community. CO Tacloban also installed a photo gallery exhibit that featured information about the 10 ASEAN Member Countries. Treats and prizes were also given to clients who joined the quiz.
CO Tacloban personnel also actively raised awareness about ASEAN by updating their profile photos on Facebook using the ASEAN 53rd Anniversary Frame. END
