PASAY CITY 17 August 2020 — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. led the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in welcoming home our 386 Overseas Filipinos (OFs) on board the DFA-chartered Qatar Airways flight QR 3150 from Lebanon this afternoon.

“Welcome home. President Duterte welcomes you home,” Secretary Locsin said during his brief remarks.

Today’s flight was first in the series of repatriation flights organized by the DFA, through the Philippine Embassy in Beirut, since the explosion at Beirut Port early this month. The flight also repatriated the remains of eight OFs, four of whom were killed as a result of the recent explosions.

Secretary Locsin also thanked government frontliners at the airport for welcoming home Filipino repatriates.

“We do it because we love you. And we do it because we respect our President — the first and only President who has cared for the least of the Filipino people. Thank you for the honor of serving you,” Secretary Locsin added. END
