BUTUAN 19 August 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in Butuan, in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Butuan and the Metro Pacific Water, conducted free Rapid Antibody Test (RAT) for its personnel at the Manuel J. Santos Hospital on 06 August 2020. All personnel of the Consular Office were tested, including the Lanting Security, the Department of Foreign Affairs Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DFAMPC) staff, and Carebest employees.

All of the tests yielded negative results.

The Consular Office in Butuan is grateful for the support provided by the LGU in combating the increased cases of COVID-19 in the city. Amidst the threat posed by the virus, the Consular Office remains open to serve the public for their consular concerns.

The RAT is part of the office’s health measures and protocols to prevent the spread of the disease. Other protocols include the designation of foot baths upon office entry, regular body temperature checks, filling-out of health declaration forms, installation of transparent plastic barriers in the Processing and Encoding Section, use of face shields and face masks, regular hand washing, marked chairs for client’s physical distancing, and regular office disinfection.

The Consular Office aims to continue its preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 to ensure the safety of both its clients and personnel. END
