DFA Consular Office in Cagayan de Oro Commemorates National Heroes Day

CAGAYAN DE ORO 02 September 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in Cagayan de Oro paid tribute to all Filipino Heroes in a week-long celebration from 24 to 27 August 2020.

The Consular Office joined the nation in remembering the acts of valor and sacrifices of all Filipino heroes, especially those without their own special days of commemoration. The Consular Office started the week-long commemoration with a flag-raising ceremony on Monday, 24 August 2020 with all personnel in attendance, while strictly observing safety precautions.

Profiles of select heroes were displayed on video loop throughout the week at the Consular Office’s reception area to increase the awareness of consular clients about the heroism of local heroes in Northern Mindanao.

Other interactive activities included a freedom wall on which consular personnel and clients wrote messages for modern-day heroes and a crossword puzzle quiz about Filipino heroes where participants received care packs as prizes. END
