DFA Consular Office in Davao City Conducts Echo Training on 5S Awareness for Personnel

DAVAO CITY 10 September 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in Davao City held an Echo Training on 5S Awareness for its personnel via Google Meet on 31 August 2020. The echo training was conducted by the Consular Office’s 5S Coordinator Karen G. Margallo.
The 5S – Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain – is a system for organizing spaces so that work can be performed efficiently, effectively, and safely. Ms. Margallo briefed the Consular Office personnel on the 5S methodology, its benefits, COVID-19 prevention using 5S, the DFA’s 5S Microsite and 5S Implementation Program.
The Consular Office’s Officer-in-Charge Delza Lourdes D. Bayabao urged the personnel to implement 5S in their respective workplaces and counters, including digital workplaces, aimed at improving productivity and quality in the office’s delivery of services.
Earlier, Ms. Margallo attended the “5S Awareness Training for 5S Coordinators” on 26 August 2020 conducted via Google Meet by the DFA 5S Committee, headed by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Administration J. Eduardo Malaya and Chairperson André Peter C. Estanislao. The DFA 5S Committee promotes a continual improvement culture to sustain 5S in the Department. END
