DFA Receives Face Masks, Lanyards from Nat'l Quincentennial Committee

14 September 2020 MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) received from the National Quincentennial Committee (NQC) the first batch of limited edition Quincentennial-branded cloth face masks and lanyards for distribution to its Home Office and 94 Foreign Service posts.

The donation, which comprises of 1,720 cloth face masks and 40 lanyards, was received by Undersecretary for Strategic Communications and Research Ernesto C. Abella (on the left) from Mr. Josef Alec Geradila of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) (on the right). The face masks and lanyards bear the NQC logo and aim to raise awareness on the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan through its design.

The NQC is created by President Rodrigo Duterte to prepare the country for the 500th anniversaries of the Victory at Mactan, the Philippine part in the first circumnavigation of the world, and other related events in 1521. The DFA is a member of the NQC together with NHCP and other government agencies. END
