DFA Consular Office in Tacloban Conducts Re-Echo Session on 5S Awareness for its Staff
TACLOBAN 07 September 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in Tacloban conducted a Re-Echo Session on 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) Awareness for its staff via Google Meet on 04 September 2020.
The session was organized by the Consular Office’s 5S Coordinator Karen B. Terado, following her participation on the 5S Awareness Training for 5S Coordinators conducted via Google Meet by the DFA 5S Committee to promote continual improvement culture in the Department and its Consular Offices.
An interactive 5S Game was participated in by the CO staff to identify their level of understanding before the discussion of the methodology. The CO staff were also asked to share their practical applications of the 5S approach in the workplace and in their homes throughout the session.
At the closing of the activity, the Consular Office affirmed its commitment to continue implementing systems that facilitate efficient workspace and productive working environment by engaging in various individual and section projects applying the 5S principles. Completed projects were collated in an online collaborative tool where staff were instructed to document how 5S methodology was employed in organizing their physical and digital workspaces. Such documentation processes allowed staff to share their best practices, enabling others to replicate it in other projects. Staff with best projects will also be selected and rewarded.
