DFA Consular Office in Cagayan de Oro Observes Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2020

CAGAYAN DE ORO 05 OCTOBER  2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office in Cagayan de Oro joined the nation in the observance of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2020 with the theme “Iisang Bangka Tayo: Unity During Uncertain Times” throughout the month of September.

The Consular Office displayed its own MANA Mo banner bearing the official theme on the monitors in its receiving area throughout the month-long celebration to increase consciousness on maritime issues and concerns among its clients.  

The Consular Office’s Head Rowena F. Neri encouraged the Consular Office’s personnel, especially those on work-from-home (WFH) arrangement, to participate in MANA Mo webinars conducted by the National Coast Watch System (NCWS) from 08 September to 30 September 2020, The topics covered include Philippine marine biodiversity, maritime law enforcement, and national security. It also highlighted the government’s strategies under the new normal to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on the marine and fisheries sector. 

The Consular Office’s personnel also added the MANA Mo frame on their personal Facebook profiles to help raise awareness about maritime issues among their circles. END
