The one-day webinar was conducted by the Office of United Nations and International Organizations (UNIO), Office of Treaties and Legal Affairs (OTLA), Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations (OUIER), the Philippine Embassy in Vienna, and the Philippine Space Agency (PHILSA).

The webinar aims to inform participants of PHILSA and the Philippine Space Agenda and the various agreements on international space cooperation and to provide an opportunity for consultation among relevant stakeholders.

In the morning session, the participants were introduced to the PHILSA, the Philippine Space Agenda, the DFA’s role in advancing multilateral Space Diplomacy as well as the roles of the United Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN COPUOS). In the afternoon session, space cooperation agreements and conventions were discussed by a diverse panel from all over the globe followed by a moderated Q&A.

Ms. Fina Sanico, one of CO’s personnel who attended the online seminar, shared, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend the webinar, the knowledge I gained in this event is quite interesting. I’m excited to see the Philippines’ one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind moment.”
