Tacloban Fun Fridays 1

TACLOBAN CITY 08 October 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in Tacloban launched “Fun Fridays” on 02 October 2020, as part of its virtual wellness program designed to re-energize and provide staff with resources to help them manage stress at work.

“Fun Fridays” includes fun and enjoyable games and activities conducted through a virtual meeting platform to adaptto the “new normal” and is participated by both on-duty and work from home staff. It aims to relieve the stress of COpersonnel after a week of work and the additional strain brought about by the current pandemic. Moreover, this initiative intends to enhance productivity, teamwork, and spirit of camaraderie among its staff by engaging them in social activities and games that foster the well-being of CO employees.

The first “Fun Fridays” activity involved a game where CO staff were asked to share their own baby or toddler photos and everyone had to guess who the photo belonged to. Everyone participated and allowed personnel to know more about their fellow employees by sharing some trivia and fun facts about themselves. The CO was able to enhance relationships among personnel and established new heights in terms of communicating through the web platform. At the culmination of the first “Fun Fridays” activity, the program garnered a positive response as employees shared their enthusiasm for the upcoming activities.

The Consular Office endeavors to ensure the well-being of its personnel and to assist them as they cope up with stress brought by the current pandemic. END
