DFA Consular Office in General Santos City Conducts Re-echo Training on 5S Awareness
GENERAL SANTOS CITY 19 September 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in General Santos City successfully conducted a re-echo session on the recently concluded 5S Awareness Training on 16 September 2020 .
The two-hour re-echo session was facilitated by Consular Office’s 5S Coordinator Amie S. Jalandoni where 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) was discussed as a system for organizing spaces so work can be performed efficiently, effectively and safely. This system also focuses on putting everything where it belongs and keeping the workplace clean, which makes it easier for people to do their jobs without wasting time or risking injury.
The Consular Office implemented its first phase of 5S called “Clearing and Clean-up from 15 to 30 September 2020, which encouraged personnel to go through all items in their work area to determine what needs to be present and what can be removed. The succeeding phases will be implemented in the following months.
Ultimately, the Consular Office in General Santos encourages its personnel to adopt 5S in their respective workplaces to raise product quality and improve work productivity, resulting in lower costs and higher efficiencies. END
