DFA Partners with Museo Kordilyera for a Virtual Tour and Online Lecture 

PASAY CITY 12 October 2020 – To commemorate the Museums and Galleries Month and the National Indigenous Peoples Month, held every October, the Department of Foreign Affairs is partnering with Museo Kordilyera for a virtual tour of the museum and an online panel on the narratives of the Cordillera region.

The virtual tour will run from 26 to 31 October, highlighting a textile exhibit while the online panel featuring scholars and artists with an interest in indigenous Philippine culture will be held on 26 October at 3:00 PM. Panelists include Dr. Analyn Salvador-Amores, the Museum Director of Museo Kordilyera; Dr. Roberto Kalugdan, a medical practitioner from California who went back to his hometown in Ifugao; Professor Rowena Boquiren, an expert on the cultural heritage of the Cordilleras; and moderated by playwright and director Floy Quintos, who also devoted his time studying the Philippine indigenous culture.

Museo Kordilyera, the first Ethnographic Museum in Northern Luzon, opened in January 2017 at the University of the Philippines, Baguio City. It is the repository of the tangible and intangible heritage of the Cordillera Indigenous group. It is also a venue for scholarly research studies.
