PH, Germany Commit to Advance Bilateral Relations Amid the Pandemic

PASAY CITY 21 October 2020 – The Philippines, represented by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso  and Germany, represented by Federal Foreign Office Director General for Asia Petra Sigmund manifested their commitment to advance bilateral relations between two countries even during the unprecedented public health situation during the 4th round of Political Consultations conducted virtually on 21 October 2020. 

The two sides exchanged views on the Indo-Pacific region, Germany’s new immigration law for skilled workers, development cooperation, cooperation in the field of climate change, cooperation in the field of science and technology, COVID-19 vaccines, and economic relations, among other areas of mutual interest. They also engaged in frank and open discussions on other regional and multilateral issues. 

The Philippines will host the next round of bilateral consultations in Manila. END
