DFA Intelligence and Security Unit Awarded at 56th Fleet Marine Ready Force Philippine Navy Anniversary

PASAY CITY 17 November 2020 – Today, the Headquarters Fleet Marine Ready Force of the Philippine Navy led by Brigadier General Arnel S. Tolato PN(M) awarded a plaque of appreciation to the Department of Foreign Affairs Intelligence and Security Unit (ISU) during its 56th Anniversary, for the Department’s cooperation and support during various naval diplomacy missions and international defense and security engagements of the Navy.

These missions and engagements include joint efforts to repatriate Filipinos stranded abroad during the Middle East conflict earlier this year, in which the BRP Ramon Alcaraz and BRP Davao Del Sur sailed to Oman to rescue Filipinos from the crisis as well as evacuate stranded Filipinos from India and Sri Lanka; Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercises in Hawaii; and transport of Covid-19 supplies from China.

In his remarks, Foreign Affairs Officer-In-Charge for the Intelligence Security Unit (ISU) Jed Dayang thanked the Fleet-Marine Ready Force for the award, and assured them of the Department’s continued cooperation and support. END
