PASAY CITY 09 December 2020 – New Egyptian Ambassador to the Philippines Ahmed Shehabeldin paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. on 07 December 2020. The courtesy call follows the Presentation of Credentials of Ambassador Shehabeldin on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on 02 December 2020.
During the call, Ambassador Shehabeldin informed the Secretary of his intention to further enhance bilateral relations through partnering on migration issues as well as increasing political, economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges as the two countries mark 75 years of diplomatic relations next year. The Philippines and Egypt established diplomatic relations on 03 March 1946.
Secretary Locsin welcomed Ambassador Shehabeldin and expressed hope that further economic cooperation through increased trade between two countries will flourish under his tenure. END
