CA Confirms New PH Ambassador to The Netherlands

PASAY CITY 11 December 2020 - The Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed the nomination of Mr. Jose Eduardo E. Malaya III as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 09 December 2020.

Ambassador Malaya is currently the Undersecretary for Administration of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). He previously served as Ambassador to Malaysia. He was also assigned to San Francisco, Chicago, Brussels and New York.

He has assumed significant positions in the DFA including as Assistant Secretary of the Office of Legal Affairs, DFA Spokesperson and Acting Assistant Secretary of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Coordination, among others.

The CA also confirmed the ad interim appointment of Mr. Ricarte B. Abejuela III as Foreign Service Officer, Class I. END
