DFA Recognized as Global Implementer of eNGAS, eBudget Systems in Government

OFMS Award 1

PASAY CITY 14 December 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) – Office of Financial Management Services (OFMS) received the Global Implementer Award for executing and utilizing eNGAS (Electronic Enhanced New Government Accounting System) and eBudget (Electronic Budget) System to its foreign service posts during the Membership Conference via Zoom, hosted by the Government Financial Management Innovation Circle (GFMIC), on 03 December 2020.

DFA Assistant Secretary Myla Grace Ragenia C. Macahilig received the award on behalf of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. This is the first time that the DFA has been recognized for a national award since the eNGAS and eBudget were introduced and subsequently adopted in the Department’s global and local operations. 

The DFA-OFMS was one of the 34 awardees from various government agencies, local government units (LGUs), and state universities and colleges which were recognized for their significant contribution to the National Government’s accounting and auditing operations, and financial management practices. 

The GFMIC is a nationally-recognized association of users and enthusiasts of the electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). It aims to utilize Information and Communications Technology as a tool for productivity, transparency and accountability.

The eNGAS and eBudget System were instituted among government agencies and entities to facilitate delivery of public service, pinpoint and enhance accountability, and automate accounting, auditing and budget procedures for the benefit of end-users and government regulators. END
