23 May 2014 - The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Philippine Komiks Convention (KOMIKON), in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of the United Nations and other International Organizations (DFA-UNIO), are organizing a comic strip competition in line with the 10th anniversary of KOMIKON.
Guidelines of the competition are as follows:
•The comic strip must feature a main character who might be a Barangay Captain in a community that is frequently affected by natural disasters.
•Comic element must be present in how this character deals with government/humanitarian agencies, by highlighting odd terminologies, contradictions and ultimately good aims.
•Contest is open to amateur and professional cartoonists.
•Each contestant or group is limited to only one entry.
•Entries should adhere to the given theme. Entries deviating from the theme will be automatically disqualified.
•Interested parties must submit soft copies of a series of four comic strips on 3" x 10," fully drawn with stories that could be disseminated weekly.
