13 September 2014 - The Department of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the public that it has encountered technical problems that have led to a breakdown in passport production. However, the Department assures the public that it has addressed these technical concerns and passport production has normalized today.

The Department also informs the public that it will address the delays in passport issuance within the next three to four weeks as its personnel will work around the clock, even during holidays and weekends, to ensure that production backlogs are addressed in the soonest possible time.

The Department sincerely apologizes for the delays in passport issuance and the inconvenience that this has caused to our fellow Filipinos. The Department assures the public that it is taking all the necessary steps to ensure that passports are issued on time and appeals to the public for its kind understanding on this matter. END
