29 July 2013 - The Philippines and Viet Nam will hold the 7th Meeting of the Philippines-Viet Nam Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) on August 01 in Manila. Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario will lead the Philippine delegation while Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will head the Vietnamese delegation.
At the 7th Philippines-Viet Nam JCBC, among the issues to be discussed are cooperative initiatives in defense and security, maritime and ocean cooperation, trade and investments, and agriculture. The Meeting will also review the implementation of the Philippines-Viet Nam Action Plan, a framework document which lists the initiatives to be implemented by both countries for the period 2011-2016.
The last round of Philippines-Viet Nam JCBC was hosted by Viet Nam in 2011.
The Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation is a regular consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries of the two countries to discuss bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern. END
