08 October 2014 - A Seminar-Workshop on Administrative Justice (SWAJ), spearheaded by the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA) – Board of Foreign Service Administration (BFSA) Secretariat, was held from October 1 to 2 at the Bulwagang Apolinario Mabini, Department of Foreign Affairs, Pasay City.
Resource persons from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) gave lectures to forty (40) participants from various offices of the DFA. Atty. Cielito A. Martinez, Chief of the Legal Services Division of CSC-NCR, discussed the Revised Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Services (RRACCS), Administrative Rules on Sexual Harassment Cases and updates in administrative jurisprudence. Atty. Richard Anthony D. Fadullon, Senior Deputy State Prosecutor of the DOJ lectured on investigation procedures, evidence appreciation and administrative procedures in the DOJ. Senior Special Assistant and Board Secretary, Noel Servigon, discussed the DFA Rules of Procedure in Administrative Cases, suppletory to the RRACCS.
The seminar was concluded with a moot court activity, with the participants taking their respective roles as complainant, respondent and hearing officer.
DFA Undersecretary for Administration, Linglingay F. Lacanlale, in her message delivered during the closing ceremony, emphasized the significance of enhancing the knowledge and skills of personnel who shall perform investigation, prosecution and adjudication duties for administrative cases in the Department, in conformity with updated rules of procedures and jurisprudence.
