02 August 2013 – To encourage greater participation from its ASEAN Member States, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) calls on interested Filipinos to take part in the ASEAN Community Building through various events, activities and opportunities.
In particular, the DFA is inviting all interested Filipinos to apply for available positions in the ASEAN Secretariat.
The ASEAN Secretariat is currently accepting applications from ASEAN nationals for two positions. One is for the position of Chief Economist or ASEAN Integration Monitoring Office (AIMO) Director, and the other position is for a senior administration officer.
The ASEAN Secretariat, set up in February 1976, is the nerve center of ASEAN. Its mission is to initiate, facilitate and coordinate ASEAN stakeholder collaboration in realising the purposes and principles of ASEAN as reflected in the ASEAN Charter. Its basic function is to provide for greater efficiency in the coordination of ASEAN organs and for more effective implementation of ASEAN projects and activities.
