3 August 2013 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario lauded selected Foreign Service personnel for their exceptional service to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for years in a simple ceremony marking the observance of the 115th DFA Foundation Day and the 149th Birth Anniversary of Apolinario Mabini.

Held at the DFA Main Building in Pasay City on Tuesday, July 31, the Distinguished Service Award was conferred by Secretary del Rosario upon nineteen (19) former Heads of Posts for their indefatigable commitment and service to the Department. The awardees are:

Commendations from the Secretary of Foreign Affairs were also given to

 

Mr. Dicasaran B. Acraman for his years of service in the DFA and for being one of the founders of the DFA Multi-Purpose Cooperative and to Director Maria Elena D. Maningat for her commendable commitment to her Foreign Service assignments and for spearheading the project Little Candles in New York, an organization that helps several institutions in the Philippines.

The Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Award was likewise conferred by Secretary del Rosario upon the following for their dedication in providing help to overseas Filipinos during crisis situations:

The Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Award was also conferred upon the Philippine Embassy in Cairo, Egypt and the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli, Libya for their unrelenting perseverance and dedication in addressing the challenges posted by the crises and calamities that they had to face and their unswerving commitment in assisting Filipinos overseas.

The DFA also recognized offices and embassies which excelled in the past year in performing their functions. The Best Organization Awards were given to the DFA Office of Fiscal Management (OFM), the Philippine Embassy in Damascus, Syria, the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, Japan for their “outstanding performance, dedication and commitment to excellence…which exemplify the mission and vision of the Department of Foreign Affairs worldwide.”  END
