OEA SOM Ambassador designate calls on SFA

16 August 2013 - Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) Ambassador-designate Odelia Gregorio Arroyo called on Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario this afternoon at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Main Building in Pasay City.  

Ambassador-designate Arroyo, a known civic and business leader, was recently appointed by the Sovereign Military of Malta as its ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines.

During the call, Secretary del Rosario took the opportunity to express the Philippines’ great appreciation for the Sovereign Military Order of Malta’s altruistic achievements throughout the country since the establishment of bilateral relations in 1965. The Secretary noted the numerous humanitarian assistance and relief efforts conducted by SMOM in the country.

Ambassador-designate Arroyo, on the other hand, enumerated various projects which are illustrative of SMOM’s continuing efforts to help the Philippines through disaster relief and medical missions.

During the call, Ambassador-designate Arroyo was accompanied by SMOM officials Madame Delza Lazatin and Madame Josie Rufino. The call was also attended by Philippine Ambassador to the Holy See Mercedes Tuason and DFA Office of European Affairs officers led by Executive Director Marichu Mauro. END
