02 September 2013 - Philippine Ambassador to Spain Carlos C. Salinas, on behalf of President Benigno S. Aquino III, personally handed over the framed citation of the Order of Sikatuna Award with the Rank of Datu to former Iraqi Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Wadee Batti Hanna Al-Batti at a ceremony held at the Philippine Embassy in Madrid on August 30.

Ambassador Al-Batti is now the Ambassador of Iraq to Spain.

Also present during the ceremony was Deputy and Chief of Mission Catalino R. Dilem, Jr.

Ambassador Al-Batti expressed his sincerest gratitude for the award which he considers as one of the most significant awards he has received in his diplomatic career.  END
