08 October 2013 – In a bid to further intensify its public diplomacy campaign, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) participated in the recently-concluded Cosplay Mania 2013 from October 05 to 06, the country’s premier event for cosplay and cosplaying enthusiasts.
During the two-day event, the DFA provided passport appointment scheduling for walk-in applicants, distributed pamphlets and brochures on the upcoming Foreign Service Officers Examinations (FSO Exam), and sold various DFA souvenir items.
The DFA Booth was manned by staff from the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA), Board of Foreign Service Examinations (BFSE), and the DFA’s business process outsourcing partner, Pilipinas Teleserv.
The booth was also joined by the DFA’s official mascots, Captain DFA and Kapitana DFA. Kapitana DFA debuted during the event.
Mr. Alexander Estomo, Principal Assistant from the DFA’s Coratel and MIS Division, gave a brief overview on the FSO Exam and Foreign Service career during the event’s main contests, the 4th Tournament of Champions Grand Finals and the Cosplay Solo Showdown. Joining him onstage were Captain DFA and Kapitana DFA, the official DFA mascots at Cosplay Mania 2013.
The DFA’s participation in Cosplay Mania ’13 was organized by the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA) together with the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Coordination (OSPPC), Office of Consular Affairs (OCA), Board of Foreign Service Examination (BFSE), Coratel and MIS Division (CMISD), Public Information Services Unit (PISU), and DFA Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DFAMPC).
