25 September 2017 VIENTIANE - Popular Filipino Artists Tippy Dos Santos and Sam Concepcion represented the Philippines in the ASEAN Young Contemporary Music Concert held at the Lao National Cultural Hall in Vientiane, Laos. The Concert was attended by the general public, Lao government officials, the diplomatic corps, and international organizations.

The Concert featured artists from the ASEAN member countries who performed an English pop song and a national contemporary song. For the Philippines, Tippy Dos Santos earned wide praise for her rendition of “How Far I’ll Go” from the Disney animated film Moana, while Sam Concepcion’s original song “No Limitations” was also well-received. At the end of the program, the two Filipino artists accepted flowers on behalf of the ASEAN performers as representatives of the ASEAN Chair.

The Concert was an initiative by the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, in partnership with ASEAN cultural institutions, including the Philippines’ National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). The event was part of the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information – Sub Committee on Culture project to promote a deeper understanding of cultural diversity in the Southeast Asia region.
