PHL Embassy in Kuwait Holds ASEAN Night in Celebration of 50th Anniversary of ASEAN

04 October 2017 KUWAIT – The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait held ASEAN Night in commemoration of the Golden (50th) Anniversary of the Foundation of the ASEAN at the Badriyah Ballroom of the Jumeriah Messilah Hotel in Kuwait City on 27 September 2017.
The event was attended by 400 to 450 invited guests, including the Guest of Honor, His Excellency Khaled Sulaiman Al-Jarallah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government Ministries, the Dean and members of the Diplomatic Corps, and Kuwaiti businessmen. The nine ASEAN Ambassadors hosted the event.
In his message, Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Renato Pedro Villa underscored the significance of the establishment of ASEAN, significant achievements and milestones; significance of ASEAN's existence today; important data on ASEAN, particularly the expansive total land area of the region, ASEAN citizens, and ASEAN member-countries' combined GDP; mutual interest that encourages ASEAN and GCC to formalize their cooperation; and the significance of the Philippines' chairmanship of the ASEAN.
