PHL Embassy Celebrates Christmas with Filipino Community in Beijing

22 December 2017 BEIJING — The Philippine Embassy in Beijing held its annual Christmas celebration with the Filipino Community in Beijing and nearby provinces at the Embassy's Sentro Rizal on December 17.

In his opening remarks, Philippine Ambassador Jose Santiago L. Sta. Romana thanked the Filipino community for its support and cooperation throughout the year. He further introduced all Embassy officers and staff as well as the representatives from partner agencies, Office of Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, Office of the Police Liaison Attaché, Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC), Office of the Agricultural Counsellor and the Philippine Department of Tourism-Beijing (PDOT) to inform the community of the various responsibilities and tasks performed by each office in strengthening bilateral ties between the Philippines and China.

Performances by members from various Filipino bands from Beijing and Tianjin, including Music Mixx Band, Maggie's Band, Diverzyt Band, Flight 99 and SW58, entertained the guests. Ms. Michelle Villegas, Miss Plus Size International Beijing, rendered a special song number.

Guests enjoyed a simple Filipino merienda with free beers from San Miguel Brewery and had the chance to win different raffle prizes including hotel vouchers, appliances and free roundtrip tickets from Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific. END
