PH Embassy in Yangon Spreads Christmas Cheer at St. Mary's Home

Philippine Embassy in Yangon personnel with A Capella Manila members and St. Mary’s Home Sisters and girls

YANGON 26 December 2018 —The Philippine Embassy in Yangon shared its blessings through a Christmas outreach program with the 124 Myanmar girls of St. Mary’s Home on 13 December 2018 in Kyauktan, south of Yangon region.

The Embassy held a Christmas party for the girls with parlor games, a special performance by A Cappella Manila, distribution of gifts prepared by Embassy personnel, and a simple dinner. The girls showed their appreciation through musical performances where they sang and played musical instruments.

St. Mary’s Home is an orphanage run by the Servite Sisters, a religious congregation of nuns affiliated with the religious order of Servi di Maria. Most of the girls in the orphanage are from conflict areas in Myanmar. END
