PH Embassy in Athens Sponsors Simbang Gabi Mass

PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Athens sponsored the Simbang Gabi Mass at the Miraculous Medal Center for Migrants in Greece on 17 December 2018.  Embassy officers and staff members and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) who attended the mass were led by Consul General and Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Rosario P. Lemque, and POLO Welfare Officer Nerisa L. Mercado.

The mass was celebrated by Father Rex F. Fortes, CM, a visiting Filipino priest who is currently based and studying in Belgium.

The MMC is a center for migrant workers and refugees. It is a recognized pastoral arm of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, whose purpose is to arouse in our Filipino migrants their immense missionary potentials. The pastoral activities of the MMC had been echoed in various International Consultation Meetings on the Filipino Ministry Overseas in Europe, in European Preparatory Commission for the general Assembly of the Daughters of Charity in Paris, France, and at the IV World Congress on the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Refugees in the Vatican City.  The MMC is managed by a Filipino nun, Spiritual Director Sister Emma Rivero DC.
