PHL Embassy in Malaysia Hosts Diplomatic Reception to Commemorate Ph Independence Day 2017

22 May 2017 KUALA LUMPUR — Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Charles Jose and his spouse, Madame Maria Victoria Jose hosted around 300 guests representing the members of the diplomatic corps, Malaysian government, the business community, and the Filipino community during a diplomatic reception commemorating the 119th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence at the Mayang Sari Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriot on May 15.
Malaysian Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili was the reception’s guest of honor.
The diplomatic reception featured Malaysia-based Filipino musicians such as pianists Will Rebaño and Lipraxedes Jumawan, guitarist Charles Ponce de Leon, trumpeter Conrado Soliano, saxophonist Razak Rahman, drummer Yacob Medon and singers Gina Panizales, Maria Rebaño and Jennifer Alferez who serenaded the crowd with Filipino music.
