Filipino Community Celebrates Philippine Independence Day in Brussels

The Philippine Embassy in Belgium led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., Alan L. Deniega joined the traditional parade of the Philippine flag and all Filipino organizations spearheaded by the Knights of Rizal in Belgium during the annual Philippine Independence Day celebration in Brussels on June 11.

 

29 June 2017 BRUSSELS – The Filipino community in Belgium celebrated the 119th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence at the Basilique Sacré-coeur de Koekelberg in Brussels on June 11.

The event, dubbed as “Piknikang Bayan Baon Ko, Baon Mo, Salu-salo Tayo,” gathered over a thousand Filipinos, including second generation Filipino-Belgians, Belgian families and friends and the wider international community.

The Philippine Embassy, led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., Alan L. Deniega, joined the celebration organized by the Koalisyon Para Sa Kalayaan (KPSK) and hosted by the Knights of Rizal (KOR) in Belgium.
