Philippine Embassy in Brunei Leads Thanksgiving on PH Independence Day

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 13 June 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Pete Raymond V. Delfin, led a thanksgiving mass in celebration of the 120th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence held at the Church of Our Lady of Assumption on 10 June 2018.
The thanksgiving mass was attended by more than 250 members of the Filipino community in the Brunei capital. Bishop Cornelius Sim of the Vicariate of Brunei congratulated the Philippines and the Philippine Embassy on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Philippine independence, and conveyed his best wishes for the country’s continued peace and prosperity.
Following the mass, the Embassy, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, distributed food packs to members of the Filipino community who were present during the event. Chargé d’Affaires Delfin also hosted a simple breakfast at the Embassy with Bishop Sim and Filipino priest Father Marthy Marcelo. END
