PH Ambassador, Pinto Museum Owner Open Filipino Art Exhibit in Tokyo
TOKYO 28 June 2018 - As part of the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence and the 157th birth anniversary of national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal, Ambassador to Japan Jose C. Laurel V led the opening of “PinTokyo: Contemporary Philippine Art Exhibition,” featuring works of 55 Filipino artists at the Hillside Forum (Hillside Annex F), in Shibuya.
The exhibit, which ran from 20 to 24 June 2018, was organized by Pinto Art Museum’s Dr. Joven Cuanang, in partnership with the Asian Cultural Council and curated by Antonio C. Leano.
During his remarks, Dr. Cuanang explained that the exhibit is dedicated to “the memory of Jose Rizal, Rizal, being a man of many interests and having touched base with a lot of people in the world, echoing what we’re doing in our small way.” END
