Filipino Community in Greece Celebrates PH Independence Day

ATHENS 03 July 2018 – The Filipino Community in Athens, Greece, led by Filipino organization Accredited Community Partners (ACP), celebrated the 120th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence at the Organismo Neolias Ki Athlisis Basketball Court in Ambelokipi, on 10 June 2018.

The program started with a parade led by the officers and staff of the Embassy, followed by the participating organizations of the Filipino Community.

The whole day celebration also featured a Balik-Tanaw drama staged by students of the Philippine School in Greece (PSG); a reading of the Independence Day messages of the Foreign Affairs and Labor and Employment Secretaries, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Administrator, the Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer, and the ACP Chair; a search for Miss Kalayaan 2018; and dance numbers, community singing and cultural presentations.
